David Hyndman is an Assistant Director of Industry Partnerships. He has a PhD in Biochemistry from Queen’s University and previously worked within the University as the manager of a multi-million dollar CFI-funded research facility supporting proteomics. David has also worked in the industrial sector in technical product and market development for the Kingston-based biotechnology company Performance Plants. He has also managed his own consulting company in the biofuel development area and continues to play and active role supporting sustainable energy development in the region.
David’s skills position him to bridge the two worlds of academic research and product driven commercial development. He has managed dozens of industry/academic partnerships from inception to conclusion, working with the company leads, academic partners and various supporting groups (including funding agencies, economic development offices and other key units at Queen’s) to provide prompt appropriate project management support. These same skills support the entrepreneurial community in the region with extensive B2B referrals and direct resource support for new and established SMEs.
