GreenCentre Canada, the university's new National Centre of Excellence, has launched an interactive website designed to raise awareness of its mission to transform Green Chemistry discoveries into real world green products and industrial technologies.

"We invite everyone to visit our site and become familiar with how they can get involved or advance the cause of transforming Green Chemistry discoveries into business opportunities," says Executive Director Rui Resendes of PARTEQ, Queen's technology commercialization office.

Innovation in Toxics Reduction Helps Build Green Economy

McGuinty Government Funds Green Chemistry Centre, Releases Draft Regulation

Ontario is supporting innovation that will help create jobs in Ontario's green economy, while also protecting our health and environment from dangerous toxics.

The province will invest $13.6 million in GreenCentre Canada, located at Queen's University in Kingston. The centre, which will be operated by PARTEQ Innovations, will connect green chemistry discoveries in Ontario universities with companies to develop alternatives to toxic chemicals and get them to the marketplace faster.

AURP Canada Releases Inaugural Issue of CanadaNOW Magazine

The Canadian Association of University Research Parks / Association Canadienne des Parcs de Recherches d'Université (AURP Canada) is pleased to announce the release of their inaugural issue of CanadaNOW Magazine. Innovation Park at Queen's University opened in June 2008, but I only had a vague idea of its purpose and involvement in alternative energy and environmental research fields.

I was also intrigued by the growing presence of alternative energy enterprises locating in Kingston and the area -- the $475-million Wolfe Island wind farm, the announcement Everbrite Solar had selected Kingston as the site for a new state-of-the-art, high-efficiency photovoltaic manufacturing facility, plus a host of smaller startup companies in the green energy field locating in Kingston.

KINGSTON, ON – Canada’s first Centre of Excellence for Green Chemistry Commercialization joins a roster of Kingston’s technology innovators at the Ontario Centres of Excellence Discovery 09 showcase in Toronto this month.

KEDCO and Chamber to join Innovation Park Cluster

Kingston, ON – The Kingston Economic Development Corporation will be relocating their offices to join other service providers at Innovation Park at Queen’s University, 945 Princess Street. The move, approved by the Board of Directors is scheduled to take place at the end of July this year.

ELORIN U’s first annual entrepreneurship training program

ELORIN U’s first annual entrepreneurship training program – Spring Training for Entrepreneurs was launched in March 2009 and provided professional development to those interested in learning innovative business strategies and bettering their business approach.

Held at Innovation Park, ELORIN U’s Spring Training was designed to help industry professionals develop a game plan for success. The program consisted of an intensive 5-part series that focused on a variety of business areas which included:
