KINGSTON, ON -- A breakthrough optical measurement technology for laser cutting developed by two Queen’s physicists is the winner of this year’s Atherton Entrepreneurship Award.
Switchable Solutions Inc., the Toronto-based clean technology company led by former Canadian Plastics Industry Association head Mark Badger, is making progress with its plans to offer a proprietary green solvent-based technology that enables efficient and environmentally friendly plastic recycling and processing of oil sands.
Vapour said to be a bacteria killer

A new disinfection technology developed at Queen's University could bolster the fight against bacteria infections in hospitals, hotels and food processing facilities.
The technology combines ozone and hydrogen peroxide into another compound that is extremely effective at killing bacteria.

KINGSTON, ON -- PARTEQ Innovations, the technology transfer office of Queen’s University, has been awarded $50,000 from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario’s (FedDev Ontario) Investing in Business Innovation initiative to build a local network of “angel” investors. The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for FedDev Ontario, made the announcement during a keynote address delivered at the 2011 National Angel Summit today.
