SOLAR COMPANY G&R INC. ESTABLISHES A CANADIAN PRESENCE
Kingston, ON The Kingston Economic Development Corporation and Innovation Park at Queens University announced today that G&R Inc., a global leader in the green growth industry has signed a lease securing administrative and research space at the Innovation Park facilities at 945 Princess Street. The company will begin occupying the space in December of this year.
Based out of South Korea, G&R Inc. was established in 1997 for the manufacturing and selling of solar energy materials. The company provides total solutions in the construction of photovoltaic power plants. Their main business item is the solar modules and G&R Tracking System which prevents any reverse rotation by torque generated by the wind pressure to photovoltaic energy collection panels. "I will do my best to make Kingston the center of excellence for the solar industry in Canada," predicts Mr. Oh Jin Choi, Chief Executive Officer of G&R Inc.
This will be an important milestone in Kingstons history as a leading alternative energy business community. G&R is a great company and we look forward to continuing to work with them on a variety of opportunities. I anticipate this will be a company of significance in the New Year, says Jeff Garrah, Chief Executive Officer of KEDCO.
During the companys selection process of Kingston as the Canadian research and administrative base for their operations, G&R Inc. established connections with Queens University researchers and the universitys research commercialization branch, PARTEQ Innovations.
Janice Mady, Director of Innovation Park at Queens University notes, G&R was able to make numerous decisions in a very short time. It was a tremendous collaborative effort between Innovation Park, KEDCO, Queens and PARTEQ Innovations to ensure that Kingston was able to meet G&Rs needs and facilitate a streamlined process to help them establish a Canadian presence.
G&R Inc. is currently listed on the KOSDQ (Korea Stock Exchange) and reported sales in 2008 of $40M USD.
